The race vehicle is a Jimco Australian Special Pro Class Buggy. Built by Jimco in the USA the car was built turnkey other than the wiring of the engine and engine management system that was done in Australia. Both the engine and transmission are Australian built.
The engine is a Nissan VQ35 3500cc V6 built by Shane Wilson Race Engines and has all the go fast bits. The engine is fitted with twin Garrett turbo chargers supplied by MTQ Engine Systems and uses an Autronic engine management to make sure the nerve centre is receiving all the right signals.
This power plant is proven at this level with several Pro class winners over the years utilizing this reliable engine.
The Nissan engine is connected to an Albins 5 speed sequential gearbox through a torque convertor – something that we think will add reliability to the drive train that is under constant shock load in the big races.
The Jimco has state of the art A Arm suspension and utilizes Fox Shock absorbers with Elbach springs.
The management of the Car build was by Racer Imports who guided the car’s construction from ground zero.
The car is meticulously maintained by Shane Cottee at Shane Cottee Desert Prep who has the car looking like new for every outing. A credit to Shane and his team.
