The race vehicle is a Jimco Australian Special Pro Class Buggy. Built by Jimco in the USA the car was built turnkey other than the wiring of the engine and engine management system that was done in Australia. Both the engine and transmission are Australian built.
The engine is a Ford Ecoboost Direct Injection 3500cc V6 built by Shane Wilson Competition Engines and has all the go fast bits. The engine is fitted with twin turbo chargers and uses a Life Racing engine management systemto make sure the nerve centre is receiving all the right signals. Professionally tuned by AVR Performance in conjunction with Quickbitx on a hub dyno at Quickbitz in Dandenong Victoria.
The Ford engine is connected to an Albins 5 speed sequential gearbox through a torque convertor – something that adds reliability to the drive train that is under constant shock load in the big races.
The Jimco has state of the art A Arm suspension and utilizes Fox Shock absorbers with Elbach springs.
The management of the Car build was by Racer Imports who guided the car’s construction from ground zero.
The car is meticulously maintained by Eric Schlifelner at Eric’s Motorsport Services.
